Honourable Uzoma Asagwara
Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-term Care
Uzoma Asagwara was first elected as the MLA for Union Station in 2019, when they became one of the first black MLAs elected in Manitoba’s history. They served as the official opposition critic for health from 2019-2023.
Before becoming an MLA, Asagwara was a psychiatric nurse, addictions specialist and community health and equity advocate. They have served as the Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care since 2023.
They are also a former member of the Canadian National Basketball team.
Dr. Amanda Condon
Amanda is a comprehensive rural family physician practicing in Notre Dame de Lourdes. Her clinical work includes clinic, long-term care, in-patient and emergency care. She regularly teaches medical students and family medicine residents in her clinical work. She is an associate professor and head, Department of Family Medicine at the Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba and the provincial specialty lead, Family Medicine with Shared Health Manitoba.
Jason Little
Chief Operating Officer, Emergency Response Services
Jason joined Shared Health in December 2023 as Chief Operating Officer, Emergency Response Services. An Advanced Care Paramedic with over 26 years of experience in emergency medical services, Jason brings a wealth of operational and leadership expertise to his role.
Prior to joining Shared Health, Jason served as Liaison and Planning Officer with Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS), where he acted as the primary liaison to external agencies. In this capacity, he demonstrated a collaborative, solution-focused approach to complex challenges and inter-agency coordination.
Throughout his career, Jason has been a passionate advocate for the communities served by emergency response services and for advancing education and excellence among care providers. His commitment to these priorities is reflected in his active involvement in key provincial and organizational working groups, including Shared Health Joint Operating Committees, the Medical Advisory Committee, the Critical Care Provincial Clinical Team, and the Manitoba Patient Flow Steering Alliance. He is also a past member of the College of Paramedics of Manitoba’s Complaints Investigation Committee.
In recognition of his service and dedication, Jason was awarded Canada’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal in 2020.
